Feeding Kids After School in Las Vegas
Kids Cafe is a program of Feeding America, designed to ensure that children without access to regular nutrition receive a healthy meal after school. Three Square Food Bank is proud to announce that through a grant from ELF and in collaboration with multiple Community Partners including the Clark County School District, After-School All-Stars and the Andre Agassi Preparatory Academy, the Kids Cafe program has expanded from three schools to nine! Three Square pilot tested this program in the fall of 2009, and by April 2010 the program had grown to nine sites providing 1,530 meals per day. Since its inception in October 2009, Kids Cafe has provided 75,706 meals to children in need. Three Square expanded in 2011 to a total of 15 sites and provided 2,200 meals per day.
