Healthy Habits After School
Outreach works with partner schools to determine what each school needs most, then finds those resources. Students who participated regularly in Outreach afterschool programs scored, on average, 27 points higher on the LEAP Math tests and 24 points higher on LEAP English and Language Arts tests than students without any participation in Outreach programs.
There are specific Healthy Habits goals including cooking classes and school gardens at each of the 7 public schools that have N.O. Outreach programs, that are provided in addition to a full spectrum of afterschool athletics, enrichment and tutoring. Outreach provides students who attend afterschool classes with healthy snacks free of charge.
