In response to the flooding and devastation in Houston and surrounding areas from Hurricane Harvey, the Emeril Lagasse Foundation and Emeril’s New Orleans restaurants recently teamed up to raise funds for relief efforts.
On Saturday, Sept. 2, Emeril’s New Orleans restaurants donated 10 percent of sales to the American Red Cross. The Emeril Lagasse Foundation then matched the total amount raised.
“New Orleanians remember all too well that our neighbors in Houston were some of the first to offer help to thousands of people after Hurricane Katrina,” said Brian Kish, President of the Emeril Lagasse Foundation. “Twelve years later we’re proud to pay it forward and help our Texas friends in need.”
The Foundation also donated to longtime beneficiary Second Harvest Food Bank to help provide meals for victims of Hurricane Harvey.
Emeril Lagasse Foundation and Emeril’s restaurants are honored to partner together to support Hurricane Harvey relief efforts, and we continue to keep the many families and individuals impacted in our thoughts.
Second Harvest Food Bank is still accepting donations of food, water, disaster supplies and more to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey. To find out how you can also help support those affected by Hurricane Harvey, click here.
