Edible Schoolyard NOLA

Emeril Lagasse Foundation helped to establish the Edible Schoolyard NOLA which has expanded to five charter schools in the FirstLine Schools network. The program incorporates organic gardening into daily curriculum at the Outdoor Classroom and Edible Kitchen and Cafeteria, where kids eat healthy lunches on reusable lunch trays. At Arthur Ashe Charter School, the Emeril Lagasse Foundation Greenhouse opened in 2016, which provides plant starts and seedlings as part of the city’s largest school garden.
