A native New Orleanian, Mark is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corporation (NOTMC), the city’s official leisure travel promotion agency responsible for enhancing the tourism industry through effective marketing and promotional programs. His public relations career has spanned more than 30 years, and has taken him from U.S. presidential campaigns to public relations and marketing counseling, from college classrooms to a world’s fair. He also recently succeeded his father, Jerry as the Stadium Announcer for the NFL’s New Orleans Saints. His father served in the role for 446 consecutive Saints home game (44 years).
Active in his community, in addition to serving on the board of the Emeril Lagasse Foundation, Mark served as Co-Chair alongside his father Jerry of the Media & PR Committee of the 2013 Super Bowl XLVII Host Committee. He is also working in a number of other volunteer roles including as a member of the Board of Trustees and Board Secretary for Xavier University of Louisiana. He is a member of the New Orleans City Park Board of Commissioners and also serves on the Board of Directors of Covenant House.
Mark is former Chairman of the Board of The Idea Village and served as both President and Chairman of the Board of the Sugar Bowl Committee, heading up the organization during Hurricane Katrina, when the annual collegiate football classic was temporarily relocated to Atlanta. He most recently chaired the City of New Orleans’ Host Committee for the Bicentennial of the War of 1812 and Star Spangled Banner.
Mark is a graduate of Brother Martin High School and the University of New Orleans. In 2012, he was named Outstanding Alumnus of the University of New Orleans’s School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Administration.
