Katherine Odell

Development Coordinator

Katherine Odell has a diverse background in social and digital communications, hospitality, non-profits, the arts, grant writing, and arts market management. She joins the Foundation with an enthusiasm to share the mission and keep things organized. Previously, Katherine helmed the Louisiana Crafts Guild as Executive Director, developing artist and event opportunities across the state for its over 200 artist members and running two art galleries. She is a graduate of Oglethorpe University in Atlanta. There, she learned the value of civic engagement and partook in the Rich Foundation for Urban Leadership Program where she received its highest honor, The Leader in Action award in 2012. She received enriched secondary educational opportunities at New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts in Theatre Tech and Design and the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts in Natchitoches, La. Additionally, Katherine has experience in outdoor leadership and wilderness education through Outward Bound California and Outward Bound Costa Rica. Katherine is a member of Junior League of New Orleans. She often wanders parks and museums and daydreams of her next backcountry trip. In the evenings, she takes a play out of the Barefoot Contessa’s book and is cooking for her own partner Jeffrey with local produce from a cropshare or her father’s garden.
